Letter from the PresidentGreetings! As the 10th National President, it is a privilege and an honor to serve the sisters of Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Incorporated for the 2009-2010 term. In the sorority's 18 years of existence, we have grown from the dream of one woman, to the living embodiment of 508 strong women upholding our goals set forth so long ago. Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Incorporated does not hold the distinction of being “the first” or “the largest”, however we pride ourselves on the network of sisterhood we have created. While we are a Latina oriented organization, we welcome women of all Nationalities and aspire to recruit women who can add to the diversity of the organization’s body. Our newly created Chicago Alumnae Chapter and Indiana Alumnae Charter provide an opportunity for women who have completed their undergraduate studies, or are pursuing their graduate degrees, to explore a life within the Greek community. In 2008, Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Incorporated partnered with its National Philanthropy, the American Diabetes Association, to co-sponsor the first “Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes” on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. As one of the leading diseases in the Latino community we strive as an organization to work in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association to bring awareness on the prevention of diabetes and aid in the funding of research for a cure. As I embark on my Presidency, I look forward to an efficient, effective, and prosperous year for Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Incorporated. Please take the time to further explore our website and feel free to contact the National Board of Directors with your inquiries. In Unity, Nycole Natalia "FIERCE" Smith National President National Board of Directors Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Incorporated 2009-2010
