President’s Role
The role of the National Vice President is to serve as acting President when President is unavailable. The National Vice President serves as the Chairwoman of the National Board Administrative Committee, the National Judicial Committee, and all other committees either standing or appointed. She maintains and revises the Risk Management Policy, Regulations for the Governance of the Sorority (AKA Judicial Board Policy), and the Mediation Conference Policy as necessary. Workshops are conducted annually to educate members on grievance procedures, mediation practices, risk management policies, and social event programming. The National Vice President also coordinates annual chapter/colony reviews conducted by members from the National Board of Directors.
The Recording Secretary is the manager of internal information. It is her responsibility to ensure that the board is organized and has updated information available to them at all times. The following are her main responsibilities:
The Financial Director of the Sorority is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the national treasury. This includes:
On a chapter level the FD is in constant communication with the chapter treasurers and current intake process teams. Chapter and process team audits are conducted on a yearly basis to maintain consistency of the “checks and balances” setup within the Sorority.
The Membership Program Director is in charge of organizing annual retreats for the sisters as well as designing individual workshops for Chapters as needed. The Membership Program Director has the opportunity to get feedback from the body, organize fun events and create everlasting bonds. As a very united organization, it is her task to make each sister’s experience as an "hermana" a memorable one.
The Membership Program Director also works in conjunction with the Membership Intake Director and the Membership Academic Director on the Membership Committee where they oversee and guide the Undergraduate Chapters’ membership intake process.
The Membership Intake Director manages the Sorority’s intake process. She is responsible for duties such as the following:
The Membership Academic Director oversees Academic Excellence and Community Service within the Sorority. Each semester she collects grades and community service hours from all chapters and generates reports to evaluate progress in the Sorority. Being part of the Membership Team, she collaborates with the Membership Intake Director and Membership Program Director to provide development workshops for all members of the Sorority.
The role of the National Marketing Director is to help maintain a positive, professional public profile for the Sorority. She develops the marketing message for the organization and works with members to ensure that it is executed appropriately.

The Alumnae Director of the Sorority is responsible for maintaining contact with and creating programming for Sorority alumnae. She may also assist with the creation of Alumnae Associations or Chapters. In addition, the Alumnae Director currently conducts the Order of Phi alumnae induction ceremony at National Conference each year.
The role of the Cygnet Foundation Director is to establish a tax exempt not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing academic scholarships for young women entering college. The Cygnet Foundation Committee, which is comprised of Sorority Alumnae, hope to begin operations by the summer of 2005.
The role of the National Expansion Director is to research and facilitate expansion of Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Incorporated to university and college campuses within the Midwest. In addition, the National Expansion Director serves as the main contact for all expansion efforts.
The duties of the National Development Director encompass the many tasks that are needed to develop a stable foundation on which Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority can grow. She plans and carries out any and all fundraisers necessary to raise monetary funds for the Sorority and our national philanthropy, the American Diabetes Association.
