President’s Role
The role of the National Vice President is to serve as acting President when the President is unavailable. The National Vice President serves as the Chairwoman of the National Board Administrative Committee, the National Judicial Committee, and all other committees either standing or appointed. She maintains and revises the Risk Management Policy, Regulations for the Governance of the Sorority (aka Judicial Board Policy), and the Mediation Conference Policy as necessary.
The National Vice President also coordinates annual chapter/colony reviews conducted by Regional Directors. All Regional Directors report directly to the National Vice President
The Recording Secretary is the manager of internal information. It is her responsibility to ensure that the board is organized and has updated information available to them at all times. The following are her main responsibilities:
The Financial Director of the Sorority is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the national treasury. This includes:
On a chapter level the FD is in constant communication with the chapter treasurers and current intake process teams. Chapter and process team audits are conducted on a yearly basis to maintain consistency of the “checks and balances” setup within the Sorority.
The Program Director oversees Gamma Phi Omega’s national programming, including all annual events and retreats. She works in conjunction with other members of the National Board of Directors, the membership and different committees to coordinate events such as the Annual Conference, National Mr. GPhiO Pageant, Leadership Retreat and other events within the goals of the sorority. With the revival of the Philanthropy Director, the upcoming programming will have a focus in community service, with events that encompass the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the Bandana Project, to raise awareness in the collegiate and surrounding communities.
The Membership Intake Director oversees and manages the Sorority’s Intake Process. She is responsible for duties such as the following: overseeing intake procedures and methods, overseeing and collaborating with Regional Directors and reviewing new potential member applications.
The Academic Director oversees undergraduate affairs that pertain to Academic Excellence. Each semester she collects academic packets to evaluate the progress of each individual chapter.
The role of the National Marketing Director is to help maintain a positive, professional public profile for the Sorority. She develops the marketing message for the organization and works with members to ensure that it is executed appropriately.

The Alumnae Director of the Sorority is responsible for maintaining contact with and creating programming for Sorority alumnae. She may also assist with the creation of Alumnae Associations or Chapters. In addition, the Alumnae Director currently conducts the Order of Phi alumnae induction ceremony at National Conference each year.
The duties of the National Development Director encompass the many tasks that are needed to develop a stable foundation on which Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority can grow. She plans and carries out any and all fundraisers necessary to raise monetary funds for the Sorority and our national philanthropy, the American Diabetes Association.
In addition, the National Development Director coordinates annual events such as: The American Diabetes Association Walk, Sweet November, and Winter Bliss.
The National Historian is responsible for maintaining the historical records of the sorority. She archives not only the National Board's documentation but that of the chapters as well. She manages the national database and continues to add chapters to our national history.
The Philanthropy Director is responsible for the Service initiatives of the Sorority. Members are not only expected to perform community service and raise funds for our national philanthropy, American Diabetes Association, but to make a larger impact on society at large. The Philanthropy Director monitors service hours, plans sorority wide service and fundraising programs and leads the membership in the direction of Social Change.
The role of National Expansion Director is to research and facilitate expansion of Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Inc. to University and College campuses throughout the U.S. In addition the Expansion Director serves as the main contact for all expansion efforts.
